All That You Have Learned

I want to tell you a story.

In the future, you will start to learn how to act, what to think, and who to believe in. These will all be taught to you by your parents, for they are passing on their way of life.

You will grow…

and start to put these practices that have now become instilled in you to use.

Your parents will say, “Don’t play with him for he doesn’t come from good stock, stay away from there because they don’t believe what we believe, don’t act like that or people will think you are different.”

You see your parents are trying to raise you how they see best, but along with their raising you comes all of their baggage that they have dumped on you, a little bit at a time, over the years.

You are now a new generation with the same old thinking.

So…

as you come into your own, you will start to make decisions, start thinking in new ways, and start acting upon your own thoughts. Your parents will say, “How did you get like this?” or “I raised you better.”

They did raise you.

But you also raised yourself, you raised the bar on your thinking, you realized some traditions were not what you wanted to participate in anymore. You chose to better your life and to improve upon your actions.

You have taken all that you have learned and will continue to work on creating a better version of yourself.
