I believe humans are born with kindness instilled in them. So why do some people lose their humanity as they grow up? Who or what made them turn from good to evil, or what causes them to stay compassionate? I don’t believe people become evil or mean spirited on their own. It’s the individuals they are surrounded by that contribute to their demise or success.
If families convey positive energy, love, compassion, and encouragement then no doubt the children being raised in that environment would be well rounded individuals. They would have the ability to express themselves, have a healthy understanding of why a system of support and love is important.
Now on the other hand, if all a child knows is an environment of screaming, violence, name calling, and drug abuse, then the world they are living in is creating stress, low self-esteem, and a structure of uncertainty by never knowing which direction the next explosion will be coming from. Feelings of shame resonate, because they believe all the bad things that are said about them.
I believe we, as individuals, have the ability to build a better society if only we would take the time to create a better version of ourselves. Just think, if every person worked on improving their mental health and gained insight into their well-being then this generation would be so much more equipped when they became parents, aunts or uncles. There would be a village of love and support helping to shape the future.
