Never This Old

The days are slowly coming to an end. What I accomplished in my youth now eludes me. I was strong then and now I have trouble walking. The loss of hearing and vision are sad reminders of what once was. What I wouldn’t give to have my health instead of little pills that I must swallow at all hours of the day. I worked my whole life only to end up in this place of sadness where time drags by. Only to start a new day a little bit older and lonelier. So, if I had the chance to do it all again I would make sure I grew old but never this old.
